About us

We are a workshop, not a factory.

Two people, a printer, a stack of pallet boards and a lot of sanding. That is most of the story.

How Mint Creek started

It started with a wedding photo and a busted old pallet. We wanted to give a friend something better than a frame from the shop down the road, so we tried printing the picture onto a few sanded boards. It came out rough in the right way. She cried. We figured we were onto something.

Since then we have made pieces for new parents, for people remembering someone they lost, and for a surprising number of dogs. Each one starts as a photo somebody almost forgot they had.

We are not trying to make the cheapest photo gift. We are trying to make the one you keep.

Who does the work

Both of us. One handles the printing and colour work, the other does the woodwork and finishing. We answer our own emails, which is why a reply sometimes takes a day, and why it sounds like a person and not a help desk.

We work out of a small shop and we keep our batches small on purpose. When a piece is wrong, it is faster for us to redo it than to argue about it, so that is what we do.

What we will and won't do

Where we are

We are based in Asheville, North Carolina, and we ship across the United States. Local pickup is fine if you would rather skip the postage and see the grain in person.

The fastest way to reach us is [email protected]. Tell us what the photo means to you. It helps us make the right thing.

Got a photo worth keeping?

We would love to see it. Send it over and we will talk through the options with you.
